Modern population studies evolve towards very comprehensive assessment of health status and environmental factors that influence it. Hence, they offer unique opportunity to study numerous determinants of health and disease in large populations, thus producing extraordinary amounts of data that should be used by scientists from different disciplines, public health specialists and authorities.

The aim of the conference is to exchange ideas and experiences among researchers from around the world concerning interdisciplinary aspects of population studies, in particular: planning a multidisciplinary approach, methodological issues of data collection, organizational structure and culture, fundraising and implementation of the results.
